Pollen Morphology of Several Tree Peony Wild Species and Discussion on Its Evolution and Taxonomy

Yuan Tao Wang Lianying (College of Landscape Architecture, Beijing For.Univ.,100083,P.R.China)  
Pollen grain morphology of Sect. Moutan Subsect Vaginatae was examined under SEM and the indexes of tree peony pollen grain morphology are set up. The pollen grain morphology of Sect. Moutan can be divided into four types and its evolution trend is: foreolate→reticulate→coarse reticulate. The relationship of the evolution trends and morphological characteristics is also discussed. The taxonomic position of P.yananensis is discussed preliminarily by means of cluster analysis based on pollen grain and morphological characteristics.
