Wu Tao & Li Shan-shan (1.School of Information, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Wuhan, Hubei 430073, China; 2. School of Economics, Huazhong Normal University (CCNU), Wuhan, Hubei 430073, China)
Using both elastic analysis and regression analysis methods based on the data during 1990-2006, this paper makes an empirical study on the development of service industry and its internal industrial sectors upon the effect of economic growth. This study finds that the development of service industry has an obvious effect upon economic growth while the development of different industrial sectors leads to a different effect upon economic growth. Based on the analysis, policy suggestions are put forward for great encouragement to develop the service industry.
