Synthesis of a-Hydroxycyclohexylphenylketone

In this paper, a-Hydroxycyclohexylphenylketone is synthesized after four steps of reactions with benzaldebyde, bromocyclohexane and bromine as main raw material. The oxygenizement reaction and bromination reactions of the process are improved. The second step reaction can react with chloroform as solvent in room temperature. In contrast to the previous technology, by-products are fewer, treatments are simpler, and yields are higher. The third step reaction, bromination reaction can react with tetrachloromethane and acetic acid as solvent. The characteristics of the improved method are simple technology, low cost and high yields.
