Photo-catalytic degradation of dyes is currently a research focus. Recent progress in photo-catalytic degradation of dyes is reviewed in this article, and degradation of organic pollutants based on various types of photo-catalysts is also summarized. Effects of photo-catalysts (especially TiO 2) at different reaction conditions such as light intensity, pH, original concentration of solution and reactor are compared. The conclusion will provide theoretical basis for future research and industrialization of photo-catalysis technology. In the meantime, the problems of this technology are put forward.
