Research on Ultrasonic Measurement of Pipeline Thickness Based on Power Spectral Estimation

Measurement of pipeline thickness is one of the main contents of nondestructive inspection on long distance pipeline. While processing the echo signal received by ultrasonic probes, the classic spectrum estimation method may cause some problems with its low resolution. In order to increase the spectral resolution, Burg maximum entropy method is adopted for ultrasonic echo signal processing. The correctness and the practicality of this method are shown by simulation results.
