Feeling, Love and Belief in Physical Education Teaching in the 21st Century

With the arrival of the new century, to put the strategy of rejuvenating China by science and education in practice completely is the common understanding for the whole world to salute the coming of the knowledge economy. The 21 st century will be the century of education. Education will more closely combine with the society. In education the quality and competency of the qualified personnel will be stressed. Physical education is an indispensable link in education. When the “education for examination” is shunting to the “education for competency” in China, the aim of school physical education should be to cultivate qualified personnel of all round development both in body and mind, that is to cultivate their physiological, psychological and moral health as well as social adaptation abiliy. In physical education teaching, based on the prerequisite of fully bringing the teachers' role as the principle part into play, how to exert the students' enthusiasm, initiative and creativity in study to meet the needs of competency education is the problem needed for all PE teachers to explore.
