Investigation and Analysis of Teaching in Physical Education Theoretic Courses of Colleges and Universities in China

By adopting documentation, postal investigation and expert interview, 179 teachers and 2069 undergraduates at 68 institutions of higher learning of 21 provinces were investigated in respect of the current situation of teaching in physical education theoretic courses in order to put the academic goals of physical education theoretic courses into effect in colleges and universities of China. The results showed that the planned hours for theoretic courses were insufficient. The forms of teaching were different and random. The teaching contents were outofdate and divorced from the physical fitness activities. There even existed the phenomena of that some teachers were unwilling to teach in theoretic courses. In allusion to these phenomena corresponding suggestions were put forward.
