Exploration on Wushu Activities Held in Temples in Chinese History

MA Ai-min (Department of Physical Education, Anyang Normal College, Anyang 455000, Henan China)
Through the analysis of historical literature and research, it's found out that the Wushu activities held in ancient Chinese temples are not an individual phenomenon. The motives of monks' practicing Wushu are mainly for fitness, self-defense and protecting temples. The overview of Wushu practice in temples holds that it's heritage and development of traditional Chinese sports.
