Xu Yongjie
Reviewing the course of the development of Chinese archaeology, the author believes that archaeological Practice and research providing data to prove ancient history of China, establish prehistory system and study the origin of cultures. Settlement archaeology is one of the comprehensive means to study the origin of Cultures. Heilongjiang recorded history hegan at Bohai Period of the Tang Dynasty, and history before this time should be studied in the scope of the origin of cultures. Twenty years regional archaeology works and recent Qixing River Archaeology Project indicated that Baijinbao (白金宝) culture in the Songnen Plain (松嫩平原) and the Han - wei sites in Sanjiang Plain (三江平原) had already entered civilization period.
