Essay on the Type、Feature and Origin of Pohai Earthenwares

Hu Xiujie and Liu Xiaodong
The essay tells something about the type?feature and origin of Pohai earthenwares based on the published investigation or excavating materials. The most popular kinds were the tube-shaped pot with double lips and the bulging-belt pot with open mouth from the time the kingdom wasn't built to the early stage of the Pohai Reign. The former should belong to the Sumo Mohe(粟末 )and the later should be Heishui Mohe(黑水 ).The tube-shaped pot with double lips appeared in each stage of the Pohai Reign.Pot with horizontal ear should be inherited from Fuyu(夫余)or Kao-Kou-Li Nations. Various kinds of earthenwares bearing the features of the Center Plains came to Pohai and became the main current after the kingdom was built.
