A facile method for the synthesis of ipriflavone sulfonate

Ipriflavone was sulfonated in concentrated H_2SO_4 at 100 ℃. The water soluble sodium 7-hydroxyisoflavone-4′-sulfonate was afforded and it was characterized by IR,~1H NMR, ~(13)C NMR spectra and elemental analysis.
