Through textual research of historical documents, the magazine The World of Science, established in 1903, was one of the earliest comprehensive periodicals on pure science in China. It advanced principles of "getting to the bottom of the matter" ,"new theory", "new technology" and "publishing nothing other than science" in The World of Science. These principles demonstrated new ideas and conceptions at that time.
