The Tunable Fiber Bragg Grating Device with a PZT

Huang Yongqing Liu Kai Guo Wei Ren Xiaomin (School of Telecommunication Engineering, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing 100876)  
The tuning characteristics of the fiber Bragg gratings are analyzed on theory and experiment, and a tunable fiber Bragg grating device with a PZT has been realized, which can be tuned about 1.344 nm. Compared with other types of tunable fiber Bragg grating, this device has the advantages of simple structure, easy realization and stable performance. By the way, the tuning characteristics of the fiber Bragg grating are also studied when bending it in experiment, and the tuning range is about 1.68 nm.
