RESEARCH ON CABIN MODEL FABRICATED BY FLEXIBLE-MOULD ASSISTED RTM PROCESS

Based on one type of the aerospace cabin,the paper puts forward a new kind of modified RTM process(flexible-mould assisted RTM process) to fabricate the component which has complicated internal structure.According to the structure character of the cabin,the model is designed and carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite is fabricated with polyurethane flexible mould and silicone rubber flexible mould respectively.The results show that they can both fabricate the model which has intact shape and precise dimension,and silicone rubber flexible mould can squeeze more uncured resin than polyurethane flexible mould does,but their squeezing effect is not obvious in general.The experiment proves that the flexible-mould assisted RTM process can fabricate the composite component with a complicated internal structure.At last,some views on the further research are given.
