Studies of the Preparation of KH-560 Silane Films on Metallic Surface

In this paper KH 560 silane film was prepared, which can replace the traditional pretreatment of phosphate or chromate. The influencing factors of preparation technology for KH 560 silane films were studied, including the components, structures, adhesive strength of film, and the hydrolysis degree of KH 560 coupling agent. The components and structures of KH 560 silane film were analyzed by the reflection-absorption infrared spectroscope, the hydrolysis degree of KH 560 coupling agent was measured by the conductivity testing method on-line, and the film adhesive strength was inspected by pull-off testing method. The results indicated that the properties of the film were significantly affected by hydrolysis solvent, hydrolysis time, concentration of KH 560 solution, ageing time and temperature. The best technology for preparing the film was: using water and methanol as hydrolysis agent, 10 % concentration of the solution, 48 hours for hydrolysis, 100~200 and 4 hours for ageing. At the same time, the effect of hydrolysis time on this film was more sensitive than that of solution concentration.
