The Optimization of Silicate Solution System for the TiAl Alloy Microarc Oxidation

The oxide coating was prepared on TiAl alloy by pulsating DC microarc oxidation in silicate solution system. The better six ingredients of solution were gained with orthogonal design. The composition of coating was determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The corrosion behavior and thermal shock resistance of coating were studied by polarization curves and thermal shock respectively. The results show that the smooth and compact coatings are mostly composed of Al2TiO5 and Al2SiO5, have good thermal shock resistance at 600 ℃. When the ratio of silicate, aluminate, phosphate and sodium fluoride is 2:3:2:1, the coating is the most compact and its corrosion current density reaches the minimum of 3.01×10-10 A/cm2 .
