The Manufacture and Performance of Magnetron Sputtering CrTiAlN Coated High-speed Steel Drill

M2 HSS twist drills coated CrTiAlN by magnetron sputter ion plating and the cutting performance of it in 45~(#)steel,30CrMnSiA high-strength steel without lubrication were investigated.The microstructure,morphology and mechanical property of coating were also studied.The results show:due to the well good thermal stability quality and compact structure,the average tool life of the CrAlTiN coated drills is 19 and 15.2 times higher than those of the bright drills drilling 45~(#) and 30CrMnSiA steel respectively.[
