Preparation and Microwave Absorption Properties of Mn-doped Zinc Oxide

Mn-doped zinc oxides were prepared through water bath method.By changing the concentration of manganese ions in the reaction solution,zinc oxides with different amount of manganese were obtained.The morphologies,chemical composition and the structures of the samples were investigated by SEM,EDX and XRD respectively.AV3618 vector network analyzer was employed to analyze the electromagnetic parameters of the doped samples in the frequency range of 2~16 GHz.The results indicate that Mn-doped ZnO is of single-phase structure and a rod-like outline with 0.3~0.5 μm in diameter and 5~6 μm in length.There is a dielectric loss peak located at 5~8 GHz in the dielectric spectrum and it has a trend of splitting into two peaks as Mn dopant increase.The frequency bandwidth which less than-10 dB shifts to high frequency and becomes broad with the increase of Mn concentration.
