Studies on the Plant Somaclonal Regeneration of Immature Embryo of Maize and Transplanting Techniques in the Field

By immature embryo culture of 19 inbred lines of Maize that are promised and widely used in production, such as CEE, Jianduanqi, etc, plants and seeds have been obtained through thd process of callus induction, subculture, differentiation regeneration and transplantation, Variations of the regener- ated plants and their second or third generation in the field have been observed. The embryogenetic calli of CEE have been subculturecd for about fourteen mouths and still maintain their embryogeny and differentiation ability. A system of plant regeneration has been set up for further studies on somaclonal va- riation and resistant-mutant selection.
