Experimental Investigation of Jointed and Fractured Rock Masses

Utilizing the technique of ultrasonic detection on jointed and fractured rock masses, the author firstly measures the elastic wave velocity, then appraises the quality of different masses. Secondly, experiments on explosive funnel are conducted, and the paper discusses the influences of the joints on propagation of shock wave, the rock breaking and formation of explosive funnel. Some beneficial conclusions are drawn which are available for references to practical projects and theoretical research of jointed and fractured rock masses.
