Analysis and Numerical Simulation of Explosive Demolition of Towering Chimney

Under the condition of the limited space for collapse,a 180 m-high reinforced concrete chimney was demolished by explosive with high blast cut position 25 m above the ground.Through Ansys/Ls-Dyna simulation,the result of stimulation fits the practical blasting well.The collapse process of the 180 m high chimney with high incision,as well as the process of losing stability and destroying,was analyzed through the photography monitoring and the simulation result,the research results show that at the time of 1.1~1.35 s after the formation of blast cut,the support part of tall chimneys started to be destroyed in the initial closed angle and continued to develop backwards;at the time of 1.85~2.0 s,it fractured along the horizontal direction,and neutral axis constantly shifted backward.
