The Methods of Ancient Ceramics Identification

DAI chun-yan,DU feng (The Institute of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering, Qingdao Science & Tehnology University,Qingdao 266042)  
Previously the identification of ancient ceramics was carried out by the traditional method,that is,"The ear,eye and hand should be employed simultaneously".With the advance of science and technology,modern scientific and technological means are applied in the identification of ancient ceramics.This method is mainly to obtain the major and trace elements data of ancient ceramics body and glaze by XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence)?PIXE(Proton Induced X-ray Emission) and SRXRF(Synchronical Radiation X-Ray Fluorescence),then data are processed through moulti statistic analysis.However,whether the tranditional method or scientific test has its insufficiency,so the mutual combination of technological and traditional methods constitutes the development direction of ancient ceramics identification.
