The Research and Simulation of Matrix Converter

At present to realize the AC-AC frequency conversion,Traditionally AC-DC-AC indirect frequency conversion is taken,because DC side need to adopt big capactance of filtering and energy storage,making dynamic performance of system is not good enough, and the power density is small.Matrix converter is AC-AC direct frequency converter based on the principle of high frequency synthesized.Compared with conventional methods of AC-AC direct frequency converter,matrix converter input side current harmonic content is small,power factor can be adjustable,two-way flow of power;Compared with AC-DC-AC indirect frequency converter,The power density of matrix converteris bigger.This paper studies the modulation strategy and commutation strategies of matrix converter and the control strategy of matrix converter are simulated using MATLAB/ SIMULINK.
