A STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF GINSENOSIDE Rh_1 AND Rh_2 ON S180 SARCOMA CELLS IN MICE USING FLOW CYTOMETRY

Twelve male Kunming mice (20-24g)were peritoneally vaccinated with S180 sarcoma cells in a concentration of 106 cells per mouse. After three days, the animals were randbmly divided into three groups, with four mice in each group. In the Rh1 and Rh2 groups, Rh1 and Rh2 were separately injected peritoneally, at a dosage of 50mg/kg per day for seven days, equal amiunt of saline was injected in the control group instead. The animals were killed at 24 hours after the last administration. The tumor cells were taken from the ascitid fluid and the specimens were prepared for FCM by Dean' s method. The tumor cell cycle was determined by FACS 420 . The results indicated that in short period, Rh1 did not affect the cycle of S180 sarcoma cells, and Rh2 could hinder the development of S180 sarcoma cells from S period to G2 period, and thus growth of the tumor was innibited in mice.
