The effect of magnetic field on activities of glutathione peroxidase in serum and catalase in blood of rabbits

Objective: In order to study effect of magnetic field on activities of catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH Px) of rabbits. Methods: Twenty rabbits were divided into tested and control groups. The rabbits of tested group were treated by magnetic field every day,dealling time was 30 min. Magnetic pieces were put on back and abdomen skin of animals. After dealling for 6 weeks,activities of GSH Px in serum and CAT in blood of total rabbits were determined. Results: Compared with control group,GSH Px and CAT activites in experimental group were obviously increased ( P 0.05).Conclusion: Magnetic field may stimulate activities of GSH Px and CAT,enhance the ability of organism to remove free radicals,increase resistance of organism,therefore, magnetic field may function against aging.
