Protective Effect of Membranous Milkvetch Root Injection from Acute Hepatic Injury in Mouse Induced with D-GalN

Objective: To investigate the effect of membranous milkvetch root injection (MMRI) on treating acute damage of liver. Methods: Pathologic model of acute hepatic injury in mouse caused by D galactosamine (D GalN) was set up and MMRI with the dosage of 18,60 and 90 g·kg -1 were administrated i.p. to mice. The amount of ALT,MDA and SOD in blood serum were measured and morphology of hepatic tissue section was observed. Results: Statistic difference was obvious comparing the model group with N.S control group. The amount of ALT and MDA and the value of hepatic quotient were clearly reduced in MMRI groups. Fatty degeneration and swelling of hepatocyte was alleviated on light microscope. The value of SOD was markedly increased in MMRI group with high dosage. Conclusion: MMRI can protect the damaged liver in mice.
