Protective effect of Ginsenosidesfrom stem and leaves on damage to mouse genetic materials

Zhu Yuzhuo, Liu Nianzhi, Xing shenyang, Sun Kai (Department of Medical Genetics,N, Bethune Univ of Med,Sci;Changchun Railway Hospital)
In this paper, the influence of ginsenosides from stems and leaves (GNS)on ge-netic damages induced by mitomycin C(MMC)in vivo in the bone marrow eells of mice was stud-ic. and its mechanism was discussed The results showed that the freauency of chromosme aber-ration induced by MMC were reduced significantly, no matter when GNS was administered prior to MMC or simultaneously, However, the effect was better in the former than in the latter。 These results indicate that GNS may protect the genetic materials from damage caused by mutagens。
