EQUIVALENCE OF GENERALIZED TAKAGI-SUGENO FUZZY SYSTEM AND ITS HIERARCHICAL SYSTEMS

Generalized hierarchical Tagaki Sugeno (TS) fuzzy systems are introduced, by which the “rule explosion” or “curse of dimensionality” problem may be solved. It is shown that the input output(I O) relations of the hierarchical fuzzy system may be representated as those of a generalized TS fuzzy system with some intermediate input variables.Conversely a hierarchical system can also realize the I O relation determined by a fuzzy system.
