Study on the experiment and mechanism of adding boric acid to the sinter

Boric acid was added to the raw material to constrain the pulverization,which happens in the process of temperature falling after agglomeration because of the phase transition of calcium orthosilicate (2CaO·SiO 2) The study of the addition mechanism via analyzing of some lithofacial pictures and XRD atlas of sinter indicates that pulverization was restrained obviously by adding 1.3 kg boric acid to 1 t raw material.As a result,the strength and the rate of finished products are raised.Some low melting compounds are gained from the mixture of B 2O 3 and some metal oxides in low temperature.The ratio of reaction is accelerated,and the amount of orthosilicate is decreased.
