Review on capacity spectrum method in seismic design of structure

The research on the new capacity spectrum method and its applications in engineering designs are introduced.The principle and procedure of the capacity spectrum method are discussed according to the characteristics of the non linear seismic design.Some unsolved problems and future directions in the research and applications of the capacity spectrum method are listed.
