On the Present Status of the Teaching of PE Health-care Curriculum in General Colleges and Universities in China

In order to offer opinions for the teaching reforms of PE health-care curriculum in general colleges and universities in China,the authors of this paper have studied and analyzed comprehensively the status of the curriculum development of PE health-care in 175 colleges and universities from 7 provinces and areas in China by means of literature review.The results show that there exist a number of problems in the curriculum development of PE health-care in China which include insignificant attention of PE health-care curriculum from the teaching ideology,insufficient recognition of its teaching objectives,incomplete teaching profiles of the course by some colleges and universities,problems of unitary teaching contents and teaching organization,insufficient teaching resource for the course and lack of regulations in its teaching evaluation system.It is concluded that a complete curriculum system which incorporates teaching contents,teaching methods and a teaching evaluation system that can indicate the true meaning and objectives of PE health-care curriculum should be established in accordance with the government policies and relevant documents and the characteristics of modern undergraduates,so that PE healthcare teaching can play its role in the college education.
