Multiple-factor Analysis of the Life Quality and the Mental Health of the Aged People in Baotou

Objective:To study the quality of life(QOL) and mental facter of the elderly in empty-nest families in Baotou.Methods:To test the elderly in empty-nest families in Baotou by SF-36.Results: The scores of psychological factor vitality,social function,emotional role function and mental health were,respectively,65.32±12.63,71.85±22.61,83.48±35.17,69.04±12.7.Men's emotional conversion and the role of mental health scored higher than women's(P0.05);Factors affecting the vitality were chronic diseases,income and education level(P0.05).Emotional role function and mental health were affected by chronic diseases,sex,and age(P0.05).Social function were affected by economic income and age(P0.05).Conclusion: The quality of life and the mental factor of the elderly in empty-nest families are both affected by the sex,age,education levels,economic status and physical condition.
