Analysis of the Backgound and Process Line of the Development of Commercial Meteorology

CHEN Ji-hua,XU Wen-li (School of Economics and Management,Nanjing University of Science and Technology,Nanjing 210044,China)
Meteorological service commercialization was the inevitable result of the new situation that the demand for meteorological service had doubled with national economic and social development. It began in the 1940s-1950s of western developed countries, after the 1980s it rapidly developed, and now it is coming to relevant department of China. The paper analyzed the background and motivation of commercial meteorological rise, generalized its meaning, and traced the stage characteristics of development of commercial meteorology as well as the process line of commercial meteorology in representative developed countries of corresponding development level.
