Studies on Effect of Polyethylene Film Packaging on Storage Property and Physiological Changes of Brassica oleroea Var.Italica

:The storage property and physiolgical changes of Brassica oleroea Var. Italica packed in polyethylene(PE)bags with different thickness were studied.The thickness of film was 0.02mm,0.04mm,0.06mm,and 0.08mm respectively.The control was the treatment that the products were stored in air.All the Brassica heads were stored in cold chamber(0±0.5)℃,RH90%~95%.The results showed that the CO2 contents accumulated in the PE bags with different thickness were significantly different.All the packaging treatments had better results than the control while thicker bags had better results than thinner ones.The optimal CO2 concentration for Brassica storage was a range within 5%~10%.The resperation rates and ethylene production and chlorophyll degradation could be inhibited and delayed by increase in CO2 concentration.
