Optimization of Preparing Technology of Edible Fiber of Sugar Beet Carboxy-methylation

Took sugar beet edible fiber as raw material to prepare carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC) of high viscosity by the method of the alcohol medium and two times added the alkali, the effect of NaOH and monochloroacetic acid consumption, alcohol concentration, temperature,time of reaction and liquid-to-solid ratio on edible fiber of sugar beet carboxy-methylation has been studied. The result indicates that when n(NaOH)/n(AGU)≤2.5 and n(ClCH2COOH)/n(AGU) ≤1.5,the viscosity of product increases when the dose ratio increased. The result also shows that when alcohol concentration is 75%,alkalization and etherification temperature is 35 ℃,etherification time is 3 h and liquid-to-solid ratio is 8∶1,carboxymethyl cellulose has the better viscosity at 894.33 MPa·s.
