Variation of ET, CGRP in Elderly Hypertensive Patients and Effect of Nourishing kidney Treatment

40 elderly hypertensive patients were detected concentration of plasma endothelin (ET), calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) with radioimmunoassay before and after nourishing kidney treatment. Comparing the ratio of ET/CGRP with that of the control group, we find that plasma ET is higher, while CGRP is lower in elderly hypertensive patients. The statistics shows that there is a significance difference in CGRP, ET and ET/CGRP between the two groups. As a result, the balance between them is bro-ken.
