Study on the clinical effects of seven steps Tuina in treatment of knee osteoarthritis

Objective: To compare the clinical effects of seven steps Tuina and traditional Tuina in treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KOA). Methods: 128 patients with KOA selected with randomized controlled method were divided into traditional Tuina group and seven steps Tuina group. The clinical effect, pain scores, range of knee motion and Lequesne index were compared before and after treatment. Results: The effective rate of the traditional Tuina group was 85.71%, as well the seven steps tuina group 96.92%. The clinical effect of seven steps Tuina is better than traditional Tuina group(P0.05). The pain scores, range of knee motion and Lequesne index in 2 groups after treatment were signfiicantly improved(P0.01), especially in seven steps Tuina group(P0.01). Conclusion: There was a good clinical effect of seven steps Tuina in treatment for knee osteoarthritis, which was obviously superior to traditional Tuina.
