THE MECHANISM OF ENERGY DEPOSITION AT THE INTERFACE OF METAL POWDER IN EXPLOSIVE CONSOLIDATION

In this paper the mechanism of rising temperature cuntil melt) at the interface of metal powder in explosive consolidation is studied by using the adiabatic friction and micro-explosive welding model. The duration of the rising temperature is nearly equivalent to the rising time of the shock wave front, i.e.. about 10-8 sec. The rising rate of the temperature approaches to 10n℃/sec. The temperature at the interface can be higher than the melting point of the metal. The calculation results coincide with the experiments given by Morris.
