Application of two-point strain measurement to the SHPB technique

A two point strain measurement method has been applied to the SHPB technique. By measuring strains at two different points of a pressure bar,the method uses a simple iterative process to separate the "left spreading"and "right spreading"waves that overlap together and propagate in opposite directions. With this method, the dynamic properties of soft materials can be studied since the input bar can load the specimen repeatedly.The maximum strain obtained by this method is much bigger than classical SHPB technique, and its feasibility is studied also by theoretical deduction.
