STUDY OF THE METAL ACCELERATION CAPACITIES OF ALUMINIZED EXPLOSIVES WITH SPHERICAL ALUMINUM PARTICLES OF DIFFERENT DIAMETER

The metal plate acceleration experiments were carried out with small size aluminized explosive pillars.The aluminized explosives have spherical aluminum particles of different diameter from 50nm to 50μm.Using VISAR interferometer,we measured the free surface velocity of the metal plate.The capacities and time of aluminized explosives accelerating the melt plates of different thickness are compared.The reactions of aluminum are analyzed.For the small size pillars of aluminized explosive,the diameter of aluminum particles has influence on explosive detonation performance.The aluminum particles of nanometre diameters increase the working capacity of the explosive.The aluminum particles react mostly with the detonation products in the detonation process.
