Progress of the blends of starch and Poly Lactic Acid

As the environmental problems and energy crisis become more serious,it's important to develop a new degradable material which could substitute the traditional plastic.But unfortunately,there was no remarkable breakthrough in this area for a long time,until recent years,the industrialization of biosynthesis polyester is realized.The material,which is the blends of Starch and Poly Lactic Acid,is a novel Environmental Friendly material.But because of their natural attributes,it's incompatible.This paper reviewed the starch's application on degradable plastic,introduced Poly Lactic Acid and summarized the research on the blends of Starch and Poly Lactic Acid all over the world in recent years.
