Study on Water Extract of Antibacterial Materials from Rabdosiea Serrae Hara and Antimicrobial Activity

The extracting conditions and antimicrobial activity of extracts from Rabdosiea Serrae Hara with water as extracting solvent were studied.Single-factor tests and orthographic experiments showed that the best extraction conditions are 1.5h of the extraction time,1∶ 15(g/mL) of the material-liquid ratio and 90 ℃ of extraction temperature.Under the best extraction conditions,the water extract shows obvious effect of growth inhibition on Escherichia coli and Salmonella,and the diameter of antibiotic circle reaches 13.8mm and 15.4mm individually.But the water extract has no antibacterial activity on Penicillium and Aspergillus niger.Further more,photoelectric turbidimetry test confirmed that the antibacterial effect of the extract material of Rabdosiea Serrae Hara,and it also showed the water extract has stronger antimicrobial activity on Salmonella than on Escherichia coli.
