Ship's course steering controller based on adaptive neural-fuzzy inference system

Considering the difficulties in manually regulation of quantification factor and fuzzy rules in fuzzy controller,one ship's course steering controlling algorithm based on adaptive neural-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS) was proposed in this paper,the data coming from fuzzy controller was used to train ANFIS,and its controlling effect was compared with that of fuzzy controller. Simulation results show that the controller based on ANFIS has better performance than general fuzzy controller on overshoot,response time and steady error under different wind and flow disturbance,and it can still satisfy real-time control request of ship's course steering.
