Preparation and Catalytic Activity of Ferrite Uitrafine Particle

The spinel ferrite ultrafine particle catalysts were prepared by sol-gel method and characterized by DTA-TG, IR, XRD and BET surface area measurement methods. The catalytic activity of oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene with carbon dioxide over the ferrite uitrafine particles was investigated. The results show that pure phase MFe 2O 4(M=Zn,Ni,Co) uitrafine particles can be obtained when calcining for two hours at 773 K with the ratio of substance Fe 3+ to M 2+ (n Fe 3+ ∶n M 2+ ) being 2∶1. The BET surface area of the ferrites is 32.3～36.3 m 2·g -1 , and the size is 30～35 nm . The spinel ferrites samples had high activity for the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene.
