Study of the Different Self-Organized Nano-Pores in External Surface of Anodic Aluminum Oxide Template

Anodic aluminum oxide(AAO) templates were prepared by one-and two-step anodization in oxalic acid solution,respectively.The morphology of the AAO templates were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and the result showed that the two-side-open templates have ordered,regular and diameter-controlled nano-pores.It can be seen from the SEM images of the AAO templates that the nano-pores in the back side of the AAO template prepared by one-step anodization were more regular than that in the face side,but the nano-pores in the two surfaces of the AAO templates prepared by two-step anodization were all regular.The difference of the nano-pores in the face and back side was compared and the plot of the current vs.the time during anodization was recorded.The mechanism of the self-organization process of the nano-pores of the AAO templates was discussed.Up to now,there is no paper to explain the difference of the nano-pores.
