Phase Behavior and Structural Transitions in Sodium Dodecyl Sulfonate Microemulsions

Phase diagrams of C 12 H 25 SO 3Na/n C 4H 9OH/n C 7H 16 /H 2O system and Na 2SO 4/H 2O/C 12 H 25 SO 3Na/n C 4H 9OH/n C 7H 16 system with various salinities at k m=W C 4H 9OH /W C 12 H 25 SO 3Na =2 are presented.The variations of the conductivities of different microemulsion samples with the water or brine content at initial oil content 21%(wt%) were made.From conductivity measurements we investigated a change in structure from water droplets in oil (W/O) at low water (or brine) content to a bicontinuous structure at intermediate water(or brine) content and a structure of oil droplets in water (O/W) at high water (or brine) content in the one phase microemulsion.
