Performance analysis for Alamouti scheme of space-time block code

The encoding and decoding principles of Alamouti scheme of space-time block code(STBC)are introduced.In Rayleigh fading channel,the closed-form solutions for bit error rate(BER)of MPSK modulated systems with multiple re- ceiving antennas are derived using two different methods.It is deduced theoretically that the Alamouti scheme with two transmit and m receive antennas has the same diversity gain as a Maximal-ratio combining(MRC)receive diversity scheme with one transmit and 2m receive antennas.Simulations show that the practical error rates accord with the proposed theoreti- cal results,so the closed-form solutions are accurate results for performance evaluation.
