Fatigue Testing in Welded Joint of 980-grade Steels

The fatigue strength is closely related to the material,the structural arrangement,the manufacture technology as well as the levels of the stress and strain.And the testing-frequency is closely related to the fatigue life too when the alternate stress is higher than yield stress.In the fatigue tests this paper used the stress-control when the real stress is lower than the yielding stress,and used the strain-control when the calculated strain higher than the yield strain.On this basis,several fatigue test models were designed.Fatigue strength tests for the butt-welded joint and the T-typed welded joint were carried out.The test results show that it is useful for the design of the structure of the 980-grade steel.
