Study on ANSYS FE Modelling Method of Ship-Hull Surface

Finite Element (FE) method, which is widely used in the structural strength analysis of ship, bridge, bus,etc., is one of the powerful engineering computing method.There is a lot of repetition in the complex FE modelling of the same type of ship-hull.So it is necessary to find a kind of efficient FE modelling method of ship-hull.Based on the complexity and regularity of hull structure.taking full advantage of the computer's performance and Boolean operation between the work plane (WP) and the geometrical element in ANSYS,an convenient FE modelling method of ship-hull surface is presented in order to reduce the data inputting and processing,which contributes to the ship-hull structure strength analysis.It is verified that the modelling method is viable,based on which the automatic FE modelling can be realized.
