THE MAIN CHARACTERS OF THE JIAMUSI-YITONG FRACTURAL BELT AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO THETAN-LU FRACTURAL BELT

The Jia-Yi fractural belt runs along the western border of Laoyeling Zhangguangchai mountain ranges in the esatern part of Jilin Heilungjiang Province in a direction of N30-45° E. It has a total length of about 700Km and consists of two main parallel faults. To the north it ends at Luopei, then goes across the Heilung River and enters into Siberia. The belt had been evolved through several epochs of crustal movement and resulted in a complex structural pattern. The earlier prevailing stress field lain in a directionof of E-W. Then, came the Cathaysian Neocathaysian Movement. In Tertiary the belt had been controlled under a tensile stress, hence the Shangzhi-Fangzheng-Jia-musi trough with a thick deposits of 1000M or more was formed.Judging from the history of sedimentary, magmatic and structural evolution, and from the subsurface geophysical data, the Jia-Yi fractural belt is probably the northern continuation of the Tan-Lu fractural belt.
